Presenting Concerns: Understanding ADHD and executive dysfunction to better support their son

KEY CHALLENGES

  • Stephanie and John were new to ADHD and unsure how to create the structure and systems Max needed at home.

  • Daily transitions, like coming home from school, starting homework, and getting ready for bed, were often filled with outbursts and emotional dysregulation.

  • They felt overwhelmed and unequipped to handle the behavioral challenges, especially while juggling work, household responsibilities, and parenting their younger daughter (who does not have ADHD).

  • The stress and chaos were affecting the whole family, including their daughter, and Stephanie and John often felt frustrated, depleted, and unsure where to turn for support.
